Jawdropper. Jackie Evancho

Her parents chose life!

I watched this program only once before. To see Susan Boyle. (I think it was the same program!). And am I glad to have watched it again for this little girl with the huge gift. And what composure for a national (then global!) television audience! Jacqueline Marie "Jackie" Evancho (pronounced ee-VANE-koe; born April 9, 2000) is a young soprano from Richland Township, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who gained popularity after a performance for America's Got Talent. Evancho sings in the "classical crossover" style of singers such as Hayley Westenra and Sarah Brightman. She studies singing with a voice coach, and also plays the violin and piano. ...Wikipedia

---->And listen to the same
even littler girl at 9, Panis Angelicus (Bread of angels) written by Saint Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christi .... May God spare this little one the perils of fame, while conserving and developing the gift to bless others. One child prodigy who would appear a true role model would be the great Yo-Yo Ma who never seemed to let fame go to his head or derail him from the music as did, say, Charlotte Church, sadly.

--->There are so many critics, so few intercessors for the Bride. Criticism can spring from many subtle motives, we are taught, but quiet intercession on behalf of the suffering Church can spring from only one, from Christ's Love. All of the Saints showed this intercessory Love. I know of prayer groups and cells where this Love of intercessory prayer is the very heart, and only Jesus knows the spiritual fruits which accrue to those who so Love. Living theology is what intercessors are.

Scripture and the Church have always taught the necessity for our intercessory prayer. We all need someone to pray for us, whether in those times when we are suffering the trials of everyday living, or in periods of great suffering. But above all, we are told, the Church needs our intercessory prayer when the storms are fierce and Christ's friends seem scattered, lost in diversions. The heart of intercessory prayer beats with the Sacred Heart. To become an intercessor is to be part of the chain of selfless Love; "For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much"---James 5:16

"Therefore, I desire that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting". ---1 Tim 2:8

Pray for one another, that you may be healed ---Jam 5.16

Birthday of Mary. The Nativity of Our Lady, the Theotokos

by St. Andrew of Crete

The fulfilment of the law is Christ himself, who does not so much lead us away from the letter as lift us up to its spirit. For the law’s consummation was this, that the very lawgiver accomplished his work and changed letter into spirit, summing everything up in himself and, though subject to the law, living by grace. He subordinated the law, yet harmoniously united grace with it, not confusing the distinctive characteristics of the one with the other, but effecting the transition in a way most fitting for God. He changed whatever was burdensome, servile and oppressive into what is light and liberating, so that we should be enslaved no longer under the elemental spirits of the world, as the Apostle says, nor held fast as bondservants under the letter of the law...Cont.
